Sports Pavilion,
located in Porto Alegre, Brazil
CONCEPT
Starting from an already determined zoning, OSPA develops the project integrating its several functions. The gymnasium shelters the departments of physiotherapy, dance, and physical education of UFRGS. A multisport court, the swimming pool and the athletic track are projected in a way that there is visual contact among them; with similar goals, there are openings for the street throughout the track. As the focus of the space is on sports, such elements were privileged on the project, seeking for the comfort of its users. For its sealing and solar insulation, perforated metal sheets were used over the truss structure.
