Research Center,

located in Porto Alegre, Brazil

Used for the study and for the research on polar climate, the CPC is developed to host walk-in freezers and laboratories to analyze ice samples; rooms for events, lectures and exhibitions; as well as rooms for students and professors. Belonging to UFRGS (the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul), the place is a pioneer on such research in South America, which reinforces the singular trait of the project. The spaces are distributed throughout the four floors, where each one is directed to one of the building´s necessities. The Climate and Polar Center meets the demands of the Ministries of Education, of Science and Technology and of Defense. OSPA has been in charge of developing the project since its conceptualization, up to the executive project, as well as the complementary projects.
